ART OF RESUMES, INTERVIEWS, PORTRAY, POSITION AND PROBLEM SOLVE
Interacting with clients or prospective employers in a job interview is not a simple thing. Apart from the skills and competencies the candidate might have in the resume, he/she also needs to have a clear understanding of the company, and role for which the interview is being done. It is also important to understand the parameters on which the interviewers are trying to access a candidate.
Interacting with clients or prospective employers is not a simple thing. Every interaction that we engage in professionally is a potential pitch – for more business, an opportunity or a chance to increase our credibility. Sending in a good resume is imperative and is just a start. It doesn’t guarantee the job. It will become a prompt to the interviewer and if is not exceptional the interview starts on the back foot.
In this module, we deal the various nuances that go into the art of giving good customer interviews. These include an understanding of the types of interviews that are conducted, the selection criteria and the skills interviewers look for, types of questions they ask, the appropriate body language, etiquette, how to prepare for the client/customer interviews, how to gather the required information, how to project one’s skills and competencies effectively and what one needs to do post interview. The module which combines activities, exercise and an even mock interview session intends to provide the candidate all the behavioral skills required to prepare comprehensively and clear the customer interviews successfully.
- By the end of this program, you will be able to:
- Understand the types of interview
- Know what interviewers look for and the interview process
- Understand the types of questions asked

So, what’s the point here? When you are interviewed for the job you are in the dock utterly alone. The interview process, gauges how you think, do, and feel. In an interview you are trying to sell yourself. But remember the company interviewing is also selling itself. You need to have a clear understanding of the company, and role for which the interview is being done. It is also important to understand the parameters on which the interviewers are trying to assess a candidate. What is the brand image you are portraying? How good will brand you be? And if you say “Yes”, will this be a Win – Win deal?
Of course an interview is scary because there’s a lot at stake. Will you get the job, which might define your life for the next few years? That’s frightening enough, but it is made much worse by your isolation – of portraying a professional image and representing a good organization – alone. An interview is about you, and nothing else.
In this module, we deal with the nuances that go into the art of branding yourself – skills required to understand the needs of the organization and be seen as the solution provider rather than an individual adept in accomplishing a task. Learn the three P’s – Portraying, Positioning and Problem solving – of pitching and more in these two days.
- By the end of this program, you will be able to:
- Understand the essence of brand ‘YOU’
- Know what your success story is and how to portray it
- Understand the nuances involved in branding
- Create the professional perception by building relationships
- Build winning relationship in a short span of time
- Know the various approaches to projecting skills and competencies
